Niwot coach Kelly Christensen recaps the third consecutive 4A girls team title for the Cougars, along with back-to-back boys team crowns at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championship meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Niwot prevailed by a 55-93 margin over Battle Mountain in the girls competition, with the boys securing a 36-63 victory over Cheyenne Mountain, led by junior Zane Bergen being awarded the individual championship in 15:29.42 on the 5-kilometer course after Green Mountain senior Grahm Tuohy-Gaydos was disqualified by meet officials for impeding Bergen's path in the final 25 meters of the race. Freshman Mia Prok took second for Niwot in 18:02.37 after the Cougars had captured the past two individual girls titles with Layla Roebke in 2018 and Samrawit Dishon last season.
